| The Film-coated tablets SYNOTABS include glucosamine, chondroitin sulfate and a unique vitamin complex.
GLUCOSAMINE
Glucosamine is an amino sugar, which is produced by the human body and represents a basic building block of both joint cartilage and joint fluid. Some glucosamine is absorbed through the diet, but the human diet only contains small amounts of the substance.
CHONDROITIN SULFATE
Chondroitin sulfate is a sulfur-sugar compound, which is a natural component of cartilage and is also present in connective tissue, in tendons and in the skin. Together with glucosamine, chondroitin sulfate facilitates the strengthening and maintenance of cartilage tissue. Due to its great capacity to store water, chondroitin sulfate also makes a significant contribution to the elasticity – and thus to the health – of cartilage.
CALCIUM
Calcium is a mineral, which is responsible for maintaining the structure and firmness of the bones. It is contained primarily in nuts and in dairy products. A deficiency in calcium can weaken the substance of the bones, leaving them brittle and porous.
MANGANESE
Manganese is an important trace element contained in both animal and plant foods. As a co-factor for certain enzymes, manganese fulfills an essential function in the joints and connective tissue. Furthermore, manganese is a natural component of the body’s antioxidant self-defense system.
VITAMINS C AND D
The functions performed in the human body by vitamin C and vitamin D are essential to survival. Vitamin C strengthens the body’s own defenses and protects joint and supporting tissue from inflammatory processes. Vitamin D supports calcium absorption by the bones, has a positive influence on bone structure and therefore also strengthens the joints.
