BARRETT IOL

In cooperation with Prof. Graham Barrett (Perth, Australia), CROMA developed BARRETT IOL, a single-piece hydrophilic pre-loaded IOL featuring an innovative and so far unique design of the haptics:

Even under decreasing diameters of the capsular bag BARRETT IOL optimally disperses the forces of the haptics onto the capsular bag. Therefore, damage of the capsular bag can be widely avoided compared to other IOls featuring common C-loop haptics.

BARRETT IOL optimally adapts to all sizes of the capsular bag and guarantees best posterior projection as well as increased stability inside the capsular bag.

BARRETT IOL is made of hydrophilic acrylic (26% water content), a material which is characterized by excellent biocompatibility and a superior behaviour compared to many other materials (e.g. better vision quality and supreme contrast sensitivity).

Moreover, recent works confirm that hydrophilic intraocular lenses reduce the risk of bacterial contamination and can thus help to considerably decrease the rate of endophthalmitis.

The 360° square edge design reliably prevents PCO.

BARRETT IOL features an optic diameter of 6.0 mm and an overall diameter of 13.0 mm and is designed for implantation into the capsular bag. Implantation can be carried out safe and simply due to the innovative single-use pre-loaded injection system (also available with Quatrix® aspheric evolutive yellow), which facilitates the work of the surgeon tremendously and fully prevents the lens from damage or bacterial contamination.

BARRETT IOL is available from +10.0D to + 30.0D.
